Ensembles, which include piano duets (one piano, four hands), are defined as groups composed of students only. Adult accompanists do not count as Ensemble members.

Each member of an ensemble (duet, trio, quartet) must submit a separate application form using the same unique ensemble name. For example, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are a piano duo. Mickey and Minnie would each individually submit an application form. Their unique ensemble name is Disney Duo. Mickey would submit an application form with the ensemble name: Disney Duo. Minnie would submit a separate application form, also with the ensemble name: Disney Duo.

Additional Information

  • Student Recitals are for students through high school (12th grade).

  • Each teacher may enroll up to three entries (soloists and/or ensembles).

  • Each student may perform up to three works.

  • If a teacher enrolls a student in an ensemble, the teacher may also enroll this student as a soloist, but it will count as two entries.

  • For ensemble entries, the teacher of each ensemble member is counted as having one enrollment. For example, Students A, B, and C play in a trio. Teacher of A has one entry, Teacher of B has one entry and Teacher of C has one entry. Therefore, Teacher A can have two more entries, Teacher B can have 2 more entries, and Teacher C can have two more entries. All teachers will be listed as studio represented.

  • For students who play more than one instrument, he/she may enroll on both instruments. If this student is from one teacher on both instruments, then this counts as two enrollments for this teacher. If this student enters on one instrument from one studio and on another instrument from another studio, then this counts as one enrollment for each of the studios. For example, if Susie enters on violin with Teacher Jones and on flute with Teacher Smith, then it is one entry for Teacher Jones and one entry for Teacher Smith.

  • Only one piano is available—NO piano duos or piano concerti.

  • Repeat music sections only in short pieces.

  • Memorization is optional for all disciplines.

  • The order of performance will be announced to the teachers five days before the recital.

  • All teachers and students (and their families) must be punctual and remain for the entire program. Students should be dressed appropriately: Recital Dress Code.

  • Remain quiet during performances. NO EATING or DRINKING in the sanctuary.

  • No FLASH photography during performances.

  • Videotaping is allowed only by the parents and only for their own child(ren).
