I believe the language of harmony and rhythm improves the mind's ability to understand and enjoy the patterns of sound, sight and body motion that make "music". It improves the mind while soothing the soul. I teach two students, ages 8 and 14. with high spectrum Autism as well as a gifted Advanced level 18 year old with Attention Deficit Disorder.
As a scholarship recipient and graduate of USC's School of Music I have performed professionally as a Pipe Organist, Pianist and Vocalist. My current emphasis is to infuse my students with the ability to make and enjoy "music that speaks to their heart".

With degrees in piano performance and music education from the University of Texas (formally Pan American University and UT, Austin, TX), advanced studies in organ performance at UCLA and over 25 years experience as a certified Orff Music teacher (Cal State Los Angeles)in the K-5 General Music program in both public and private schools, I incorporate the element of movement and "play" which are fundamental to music understanding. Also, as a vocalist and children's choir director, I believe singing is an incredibly important component of musical piano playing. Students are encouraged to "sing and play" or "play as a if you were a singer". Currently, I am organist/accompanist at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Pedro. I have held similar positions at St. Lawrence Martyr in Redondo Beach and American Martyrs in Manhattan Beach. I have taught music and children's choirs at St. Lawrence Martyr, Palos Verdes Unified School District and Public School Arts (P.S. Arts.

I studied under Christy Eberhardt Dolan during my high school and college years. During that time I was a piano soloist with the Beach Cities Symphony in 1984 and 1987. Studied at UCLA. I began teaching a year after I graduated from high school in 1984. I have been a member of the MTAC since 1995. I enjoy preparing students for the certificate of merit program-- since I was a CM student myself. I hold recitals for my students twice a year--the Halloween tends to be the most popular. I love to teach, especially children. I have 2 children of my own.

I earned my Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, and my Master of Music degree from the University of Southern California. I currently sing a wide variety of music professionally including, classical music, jazz, brazilian, R&B and pop. I believe in teaching healthy, efficient voice technique no matter what style of music my students sing. I believe in versatility, and I insist that all my students strive to become good musicians.

In group situations. At my job as a public school vocal/choral music teacher, I do mainstream students with special problems with regular classes and chorus. Some of our chorus performances, students with special problems have blended with the group so well that the audience haven't noticed their existence!
I do solo fundraiser performances, and conduct choirs. After high school education (in the island of Cyprus), I've studied in X-Soviet Union for 8 years, majoring in music: vocal performance and choral conducting. After I immigrated to the United States, again I had to go to school, to get my MM in Vocal Performance (1997) from CSULB. Finished single-subject music credentials and became a Public School music teacher. I have also been a church choir director for 15 years, leading adult and children's choirs. I have toured different parts of Europe several times, performing with adult choirs though "Choir Pilgrimage." Singing is my life, I do it and I teach it!
